Keeping up with our modern, fast paced lifestyle can be challenging and can leave little time for your needs, such as taking time to properly eat.

What we eat and drink affects how we feel, think and behave. A healthy and balanced food is important for our overall wellbeing. Having a balanced diet means having a wide variety of food, consuming the right proportions depending on your active lifestyle, to achieve and maintain a healthy body and mind.

  • Take the time to eat mindfully and enjoy what you eat. This will help you make more conscious choices, will reduce stress and improve digestion.
  • Take the time to enjoy the colorful and tasty food on your plate. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to discover that changing your relationship with food can have a significant impact on your overall wellbeing.
  • Eat regularly
  • An elderly person tends to eat less. But it is important that the food is diverse, balanced and healthy
  • Remember to stay hydrated. Avoid excessive use of tea, coffee as they cause dehydration
  • Make small changes. Be patient, and it s ok if it doesnt work right away
  • Cooking can be fun and easy. Check online for some of your favorite meals and try them out. Cooking and eating bring friends and families together. It is fun, you get to enjoy delicious food while having good moments.
  • Avoid distractions that may affect your food experience such as having the phone, TV on or reading magazines.

Fresh, Healthy, And Seasonal Food

  • Cook at home with fresh products and ingredients as much as you can

  • Increase intake of:Protein Healthy fat, Vegetables, fruits, high nutrient carbohydrates
  • Eat seasonal fresh products as much as you can
  • Avoid processed , oily, and sugary food
  • Eat before you get hungry and regularly during the day
  • Engage your senses: when eating, notice the smells, textures, colors, and flavors of each food bite you take. Notice how the food texture changes as you chew each bite thoroughly.
  • Avoid skipping meals.
  • Keep yourself hydrated by drinking water
  • Avoid alcohol and sodas. They contain high level of sugar.
